Hello, I'm Astra!

I have social anxiety, so apologies if I don't reply!

I'm a hobbyist digital artist. I make 2D art using Medibang Paint and Procreate, and 3D models using Blender!

I learnt very basic HTML for coding character profiles on Toyhou.se, then started learning more HTML and CSS when I decided to make this website! Barely know any JS though.

I aim to someday create several stories, which will probably be webcomics.

Opinions/stances

Sorry this is a bit long. The rest of my site won't have very many drama-related things.

Contains mentions of several possibly triggering subjects.

• It's not censorship to add filters/warnings to content (provided the content isn't just minorities existing), people can still see it.
• I'm against banning people under 16 from the internet. It makes it harder for abused kids to get help, and age verification makes it mandatory for those 16 and up to reveal their personal info.
• I don't trust pro-shippers (meaning people who glorify SA in fiction), not because of disgust, but because predators are shockingly common. People aren't evil anti-kink puritans who deserve to be harassed for being wary of people who glorify sexual assault, in a world where people are turning out to be predators left and right. Also, pro-shippers have a tendency of going "don't like, don't read" while not tagging their crap properly, and they accuse people of not caring about real victims, yet don't share advice/resources for helping victims.
• I use AO3, but I don't endorse the OTW, as they support Israel and allow NSFW of real people who do not consent to porn being made of them, including children.
• I don't trust the writing software Ellipsus. They're silent about how they got the money to fund development before Ellipsus Plus, the website's an accessibility nightmare, they put a previously free feature behind a paywall when they said they wouldn't, their discord mods are shit, they constantly claim to be anti-AI but PitchBook's data on the company lists a "verticals" segment with AI under it (no clue what verticals is, but AI being listed is sus), and the creators previously tried to make money off of others' fics. If you don't believe they're Nebuly, there's proof here and here. (I do not endorse every single person in these posts. For example, one has a reblog from Neil Gaiman, who can go fuck himself.)
• AI shouldn't be used for art, except to colour in animations or something. I'm fine with it being used for some other reasons under human supervision. However, I don't support jumping to conclusions and witch-hunting people. I've seen multiple cases of people being falsely accused of AI art.
• Fandom 100% has racism, (inter)sexism, and transphobia problems. Just look at fics on AO3 for example. Most of the ships are M/M, F/F is rare, and female characters get bashed for things male characters aren't. Intersex and, to a lesser extent, trans characters are oversexualised, and intersex is incorrectly used to mean dualsex, or cis person with the opposite sex's genitals. Black characters are underrepresented and bashed, and I straight up saw a tumblr anon accuse someone of being an oh so evil anti for being black. There's even a trope that's mostly a reinvention of heteronormativity, bioessentialism, and the patriarchy. (coughcoughomegaversecoughcough)
• AGAB is only relevant in medical contexts and when discussing how a trans or intersex person's AGAB affects how people interact with them. It shouldn't be used to box non-binary people into "boy enby" and "girl enby", especially since AGAB language was made by intersex people to discuss intersex people being boxed into male or female at birth. Also, anyone can experience transmisogyny. For example, a cis man who looks feminine, or a trans man/enby being mistaken for a trans woman, both of them can experience transmisogyny. And systematic misandry doesn't exist, but transandrophobia does, prejudice is intersectional.
• No mspec identity is bigoted (there are people out there who somehow think being bi is transphobic), the split attraction model exists, gender and sexuality can be fluid in a few people, aspec people are LGBT, I support neopronouns and GNC pronouns, and polyamory isn't cheating/doomed to fail. Quit infighting.
• Physical traits shouldn't be used as insults. One might think this is obvious, yet people insult people using physical traits they associate with bad people, such as neckbeards. Even if it's done "to mock bigots", gender identities and pronouns shouldn't be used as insults either. (Looking at people who say "theyfab" and that one Tumblr post about "theyK Rowlings" and "he/himmlers")
• Many "cute" animal videos, mostly the ones with wild animals, are neglectful at best. If you see a bird of prey/primate/wild carnivoran being kept as a pet (even if they're a "rescue" or the owner is a rehabber), people interacting with dangerous animals (even tamed ones), a fish kept in anything (including bowls) other than a tank, bugs being forced to fight, an outdoor cat, or a cat/dog interacting with a small animal, chances are it's unethical. Don't pretend it's fine just because it was done by a famous person with a good reputation. Also keep in mind that not all zoos are bad, and not all sanctuaries are good.
